Avenue A / Razorfish Intranet Ideas

Posted by michaelshawnlane on July 18, 2006

Avenue A / Razorfish recommends using podcasting in the enterprise. Suggesting you use podcasting for meeting recaps, product demos and virtual conferences. I can see this be really useful. You could listen to the audio in your car on the way home or working out. This could be a real time saver. I do believe it will take time for enterprises to adopt this and really make good use of podcasting. But it is certainly a good idea.

UK using file-sharing to fill MP3 players

Posted by michaelshawnlane on July 14, 2006

According to research done by British Music Rights (BMR) the residents of the UK are using file-sharing to obtain there music. Who do they blame for this? They blame the ISPs and device manufacturers. There is talks of reform where ISPs and device manufactures would be forced into licenses or levies. This could be forced not just on ISPs but any manufacturer that makes a device that can store MP3 files. Which would include hard drive, portable media, phone and game console manufacturers.

iDon’t

Posted by michaelshawnlane on July 11, 2006

SanDisk has started a new campaign by the name of iDon’t. This campaign is to take on the Apple iPod. They are trying to get everyone to break-free from restrictive formats. From the specs it looks like a good mp3 player. You have a choice of 2, 4 and 6GB. It plays videos, music and pictures. Twenty hours of battery life and a 1.8” TFT color screen.

It will work with Rhapsody, eMusic, Napster, Urge, Wal-mart and Yahoo! Music. It will not work with iTunes. Until someone besides Apple has hardware that works with iTunes I will stick with my Apple iPod.

iPod Nano…..Metal

Posted by michaelshawnlane on July 11, 2006

Apple Insider is reporting the next Apple iPod Nano might be made of aluminum enclosures. If you remember when the iPod Nano first came out there were complaints about how flimsy it was and how easy it was to scratch. Apple certainly doesn’t want that to happen again. In the end it didn’t seem to hurt the sales of the iPod Nano. We will just have to wait and see how this one turns out.
